An Evening of Music & Flower Art by the Sea — Rocca Bay, Penang

There is something quietly magical about music performed by the sea. On the evening of 24 May 2026, Expressivo Music & Art Studio had the privilege of being part of something truly special — a Flower Art Market & Music evening at Rocca Bay café in Penang, held in celebration of their soft opening.

After weeks of preparation, our students and teachers stepped onto an informal stage surrounded by the warm amber glow of the café, the gentle hum of the crowd, and the sound of waves drifting in from the Penang Strait just beyond the arched doorway. It was an evening that reminded us why we do what we do.

An Evening of Heartfelt Performances

Our students performed with remarkable poise and warmth. From younger pianists playing their first public pieces to more experienced students delivering expressive, nuanced performances, every moment on stage was earned through weeks of dedicated practice. Parents and guests gathered close, phones raised, hearts full.

What made this evening particularly meaningful was the setting. Rocca Bay is not a concert hall — it is a living, breathing community space. Performing in an environment like this teaches our students something that no classroom can fully replicate: the ability to connect with a real audience, to hold attention in an informal space, and to find confidence not just in technique, but in presence.

Flower Art by the Sea

Alongside the music, our art programme brought a Flower Art Market to the evening — a hands-on activity where children and families could colour and create their own paper flowers. Sunflowers, daisies, and carnations came to life under small hands and bright markers, filling the outdoor space with colour and laughter.

It was a beautiful reminder that creativity takes many forms. At Expressivo, we believe that music and art are not separate disciplines — they are two expressions of the same human impulse to make something beautiful and share it with others.
